I.Great things may be done by mass effort


The key to strengthen hospital management and make the hospital develop healthily is to pay close attention to the construction of leading Group and give full play to the collective advantages and strength.

1. Composition of leadership team


The composition of leadership team of hospital should be 5 ~ 7 people, if the hospital belongs to “Second Class Grade A” or “Third Class Specialty”. The President (or Executive President, the same below) presides over the work of whole hospital, and other personnel are responsible for relevant work. The team can maintain positive and healthy development if team members have good characters, sense of responsibilities and dedication, united and actively cooperating with others and generous.


2. Division of leadership team


The leadership team shall have a clear definition and division on working and responsibilities, and each person shall be responsible for his own duties, and have unique opinions, innovative ideas and practical spirit on their work.


Team members should be united, seek common ground while reserving differences, be honest, tolerant and respect others. They should be open, face-to-face and frank for some critical opinions and views in work; in particular, the President should set an example and support each other.

 

3. Daily management of leadership team


It is recommended to inform the content of the topic in advance when leadership team studied relevant works. The main responsible person of the topic shall prepare the report outline, the plan and steps to solve the problem, the specific standard and time schedule for completing the task in advance. After carefully listening to the report, non-competent leaders must also briefly state their personal views and opinions. The main leaders should also consider comprehensively in advance, analyze the opinions of the reporter, clearly clarify whether to implement and requirements, and supervise the implementation according to the plan.


4. President


The President should care his team members. It is recommended to talk and communicate with relevant leaders in private before the meeting, exchange some ideas and opinions, learn from each other, and avoid disputes and misunderstandings at the meeting, so as to unify understanding.

 

The President should frequently care the status of other leaders, their health and their family, help solve some worries, have a deep conversion with them, become lifelong close friends and jointly together with them for a better future.

 

5. Responsibility of leadership team


Mistakes are inevitable in work. Team members should dare to take responsibility and not push others away. Especially the monitor, he/she must have such mind and courage. The team should work together to make further improvements and strive to achieve new performances. Only in this way can the team realize unity, maintain an positive attitude and keep a happy mood.


6. Flexible working arrangement


The team should also regularly arrange leisure and relaxation activities to realize a deeper emotional communication, which is more conducive to physical and mental health, work development and greater achievements.

The President is the representative of leadership team, who should properly deal with three relationship - relationships with management, departments and staff of hospital.

1. Relationship with management


The President should properly carry out the meeting and talking with middle-level leaderships and the masses on a regular basis, and listen to their opinions on work of hospital. If there are any specific ideas and requirements, they should communicate frankly and solve them in time, so as to deepen their understanding and support, which is conducive to the development and implementation of various work of the hospital. Not only become colleagues who trust each other, but also become friends who support each other.


2. Relationship with departments


The President should often visit the departments to understand the real situation of the grass-roots level, so as to formulate feasible development plans, solve the practical difficulties or development bottlenecks of the grass-roots level, and truly achieve half the work with double results.


3. Relationship with staff of hospital


The President should irregularly participate in some department activities, including the academic reports and festival friendships, which can deepen the understanding, supporting with each other and strengthening the construction and development of department between the patients and leaderships.


III. Taking care of every single thing personally


According to more than ten years of experience in hospital leadership, it’s recommended the President can personally care the following practical work seriously at ordinary times, which will be more conducive to master the real situation of the hospital and improve work efficiency.

 

1. Check the medical records regularly


It’s recommended that the President can regularly check the medical records of some departments and carefully review them, so as to understand the medical level, workflow, medical quality and possible medical defects of each department. The writing of medical record can truly reflect the diagnosis and treatment level of doctors at all levels. Furthermore, checking the medical records can find medical deficiencies and deviations in time to eliminate the occurrence of medical accidents in time.


2. Participate in ward rounds regularly


The President should participate in ward rounds of the Department regularly when conditions are available to understand the medical and academic level of doctors at all levels, how to carry out new medical technology, reasonably arrange young doctors to go out for further study, reasonably and effectively add new medical devices and equipment, and comprehensively function the advantages of human resources and equipment resources.

 

3. Irregular participation with consultation


The President should irregularly participate with consultation of major and difficult medical records and the preoperative discussion of major new operations in the hospital, summarize experience and improve business level. In addition, the President can also directly understand the coordination and cooperation between various departments to uniformly allocate various resources of the hospital, improve the overall medical level of the hospital, obtain social popularity and trust, expand the source of disease and enhance the influence of the industry.
