Mr. Gao Yongwen is a prestigious orthopedist, who had engaged in clinical and management work in public and private medical systems for a long time. Mr. Gao has a comprehensive understanding for medical system and operation, and continuously dedication to promoting innovative medical models and schemes, rich senior management experience with the medical, and profound industry and social influences.

Successively served as director of Professional and Public Affairs and director of Professional And Human Resources of the Hospital Authority of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr. Gao took the post of director general for Food and Health Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from 2012 to 2017 and became the most popular director general since the establishment of the public opinion research program of the University of Hong Kong in 2013. After the expiration of appointment, Mr. Gao got back to clinical work as a practicing orthopedist. Mr. Gao holds the bachelor’s degree in general practitioner from the University of Hong Kong and the master’s degree in health administration from the University of New South Wales in Australia. In addition, he also won many prestigious titles, including Academician of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Academician of Orthopaedics and Social Medicine of Hong Kong academy of medicine, Academician of School of Public Health, Royal College of Physicians of London.
